The Patent Years — From OEM to ODM Innovation (2019–2021)
There comes a moment in every manufacturer journey when making things well is no longer enough. You have to make things that are yours.
For Xionel Electronics, that moment came between 2019 and 2021. We evolved from an OEM manufacturer — making products to others designs — to an ODM innovator, creating products that were entirely our own.
100+ Patents and Counting
Over these three years, we filed and were granted more than 100 independent patents, including:
- 2 invention patents — Protecting core technological innovations.
- 10+ utility model patents — Covering structural designs and functional improvements.
- Design patents — Protecting the unique appearance of our flagship products.
Each patent represented a problem we had solved — a way to make power banks smaller, safer, more efficient, or more user-friendly.
The Foldable Solar Power Bank
Our breakthrough ODM product was the foldable solar power bank — a design that earned its own patent and became our flagship product.
It solved a real problem: outdoor enthusiasts needed portable power that was renewable, compact, and durable. Our foldable design packed solar panels into a form factor no bigger than a phone, then unfolded to capture sunlight when needed.
It became a bestseller for several of our brand partners — and proved that Xionel could innovate, not just manufacture.
Beyond Power Banks
The success of the foldable solar charger opened new doors. We expanded our product range to include:
- Power stations — High-capacity portable power for camping and emergency use.
- Solar chargers — A full range of solar-powered charging solutions.
- Solar lights — Outdoor lighting powered by the sun.
Our product matrix grew to over 200 models — each one designed, prototyped, tested, and manufactured in-house.
What ODM Really Means
ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) is more than a business model. It is a mindset shift. When you are an OEM, you wait for orders. When you are an ODM, you create — and then offer your creations to brands who trust your vision.
That trust was hard-earned. It took the certifications, the QC team, and the years of proven quality from 2016–2018. But once we had it, there was no going back.
